A Cistercian hermit also called Quardus. A native of Cologne, Germany he went to Rome, the Holy Land, and Compostela, Spain, on a pilgrimage. He remained at Compostela as a hermit. When a Cistercian abbey was erected nearby, he joined the Order. In time he went again to the Holy Land and then Umbria Italy, where he died.
