Martyrs of Antioch

Groups of martyrs who were put to death in Antioch, Syria. These martyrs are listed in the Roman Martyrology.

(d.c.250) Forty Christian virgins put to death in the reign of Emperor Trajanus Decius. Feastday: December 24 (c. 300) A large group of martyrs who were tortured until death released them. Feastday: March 11 (d.c. 637) Ten or more martyrs who were caught in the Arab invasion of Antioch. They were martyred for refusing to deny Christ. Some lists put the number of martyrs at more than forty. Feastday: November 6
