On November 20, 2024 in the House of the Russian Historical Society in Moscow the awarding of diplomats and laureates of the book competition program «The best publications on the history of Russia and its regions» took place.
The competition was organized by the Association of Russian Book Publishers with the support of the Russian Historical Society and the Russian Military Historical Society, as well as the State Public Historical Library of Russia and the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The goal of the contest — to draw public attention to book-publishing projects on national history. The competition evaluated not only the quality of the text, but also the editorial work, as well as the polygraphic quality of the books.

The competition was held in four categories: «Historical-documentary and memoir editions», «Scientific and popular science editions», «Albums and photo albums», «Editions for children». More than 250 book novelties from 73 publishing houses took part in the contest. 24 of them became laureates.
The ceremony of awarding diplomas and laureates was attended by: Deputy Chairman of the Publishing Council Hieromonk Makary (Komogorov), Chairman of the Board of the Russian Historical Society R.G. Gagkuev, Vice-President of the Russian Book Publishers Association O.V. Filimonov, Scientific Director of the Russian Military Historical Society M.Y. Myagkov, Director of the State Public Historical Library M.D. Afanasyev, Director of the Russian State Archive of Social and Political History A.K. Sorokin, and representatives of publishing houses.
