Nikolo-Ugresh Theological Seminary in cooperation with the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, the Synodal Department for Religious Education and Catechization and the Russian State Historical Archive continues the publication of "The Collected Works of Equal-to-the-Apostles Nicholas of Japan", the press service of the theological school reports. The recently released VI volume contains diary entries of the saint for 1896-1899. In them Vladyka Nicholas discusses significant issues in the life of the Russian Theological Mission in Japan: the training and activities of Orthodox priests and missionary catechists, the work of the Mission's educational institutions and its translation department, construction work, etc. At the same time, the saint is also concerned about events taking place in the homeland or related to it. The publication is intended for a wide range of readers interested in the history of the Russian Orthodox Church and its missionary ministry, and the history of Japan during the Meiji period.
