A collection of official texts of the Russian Orthodox Church on bioethics issues has been published

Вышел в свет сборник официальных текстов Русской Православной Церкви по проблемам биоэтики
On January 25, 2024, within the framework of the conference "Orthodox Bioethics: Assessing the Risks, Thinking through the Christian Response" of the XXXII International Christmas Educational Readings, the collection "Bioethics. Guidance documents of the Russian Orthodox Church", prepared by the Synodal Commission on Bioethics in cooperation with the Synodal Department for Relations between the Church and Society and the Media, reports Patriarchy.ru. The collection includes all thematic documents officially adopted by the Russian Orthodox Church in the period from 1989 to 2023, including the document "On the inviolability of human life from the moment of conception," considered at a meeting of the Holy Synod in December 2023. Importantly, this is a complete compendium, organized under thematic headings. For the first time, all the official texts of our Church on the beginning of life, biomedical research, death, and the impact of high technology on the existence of society are brought together under one cover. Anyone can refer to the relevant chapter of the collection and find out the Church's position on pressing bioethical issues. The electronic version of the collection is available for download on the website of the Synodal Commission on Bioethics.
