Meeting of Mothers of the Diocese of Warsaw-Belsk

Встреча матушек Варшавско-Бельской епархии
On May 30, 2024, the annual meeting of the Matushkas of the Diocese of Warsaw-Biel was held at the Monastery of St. Martha and Mary on Mount Grabarka.

The meeting began with a holy liturgy, which was led in the main church of the monastery by Bishop Barsonofius of Siemiaticki, assisted by the clergy. His Eminence Blessed Savva, Metropolitan of Warsaw and All Poland, and Bishop Paul of Hajnow prayed in the altar.

Before the beginning of the plenary session, Metropolitan Sava read out a prayer and then introduced the audience to the specifics of the leitmotif of the meeting, paying much attention to the challenges posed to every Christian by the modern world. The hierarchy emphasized the need to protect life, the basic social fabric of the family and to deepen the spiritual life, both individually and in the family, parish and Church-wide dimensions. Accordingly, the priest's family, as a model in a given community, must serve as an example. This requires each member of the clergy family to be aware of and responsible for every behavior, every word. All new and new phenomena that dominate daily life and contradict the faith and traditions of the Orthodox Church require each time to evaluate and decisively cut off. It requires great wisdom, caution, tact to unite rather than divide," concluded His Eminence.

The theme of this year's meeting was: 'My assessment, as a matushka, of the changes taking place in the modern Orthodox world. Suggestions'" Opening the meeting, His Eminence introduced his theme to the audience. The keynote address was prepared by Matushka Elizabeth Alekseiuk from Warsaw. Matushka Eva Zhukovitskaya from Orel gave the Koreferata. At the end of the meeting an interesting game was played to unite the community of matushkas.
