On November 13, 2024 in Yaroslavl, the presentation of the project «Save and Preserve» aimed at preserving crumbling churches took place.

The project is implemented by the charitable foundation to support the revival of Russian church architecture «Innotech XXI».

«Our common goal — to preserve the historical and cultural heritage for the present and future generations, — noted the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Yaroslavl region Tatiana Potemkina. — This task is set by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Thanks to the region's participation in the project "Save and Preserve", as well as the implementation of various mechanisms and programs for the protection of cultural monuments together we will be able to preserve and multiply the spiritual heritage of our region and the country.

Five monuments of the Yaroslavl region are included in the federal program «Conservation of objects of cultural heritage». These are the building of the almshouse named after I.I. Karzinkin in Yaroslavl, Spaso-Preobrazhensky Gennady Monastery (bell tower) in the village of Sloboda, Lubim district, the Church of the Holy Trinity on Bor in the village of Borisoglebsky, the Cathedral of the Epiphany in Lubim and the bell tower in the village of Kurba, Yaroslavl district. Conservation works are planned to be completed by October 2025. A state program has been developed program «Preservation of cultural heritage objects of Yaroslavl region for 2025-2029». According to the results of the inventory conducted in 2023, the monuments that need to be restored as a priority were identified. The most important are 11 ensembles, including the churches of Elijah the Prophet and Nikola the Wet in Yaroslavl, the ensemble of the Boris and Gleb Monastery.

The event was attended by representatives of the Yaroslavl Diocese — the head of the diocesan department of culture Archpriest Michael Smirnov, Archpriest Michael Buchin, dean of parishes of Nekrasovsky district.
