On November 14, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk and his entourage were received at the Patriarchal Residence in Jerusalem by Blessed Patriarch Theophilos III of the Holy City of Jerusalem and All Palestine. The meeting was also attended by the head of the Russian Spiritual Mission in Jerusalem Archimandrite Vassian (Zmeyev) and his deputy, Hegumen Nikon (Golovko).

In the course of the conversation, the parties discussed a wide range of issues concerning bilateral relations between the Russian and Jerusalem Churches, the inter-Orthodox agenda, and other topics, of mutual interest.

Afterwards, Metropolitan Anthony and members of the delegation accompanying him visited the Church of the Resurrection of Christ, where they worshipped the great Christian shrines — the Life-bearing Holy Sepulchre and the place of Jesus Christ's crucifixion on Mount Golgotha.

On the same day, the chairman of the Russian Orthodox Church visited the Russian Theological Mission in Jerusalem, where he was welcomed by the head Archimandrite Vassian (Zmeyev), Hegumen Nikon (Golovko), the workers of the Mission and the sisters of the Gorno Monastery. In the Church of the Martyr Queen Alexandra, Metropolitan Anthony addressed them with an archpastoral word, wishing them God's help in their labors in the Holy Land.
