The seminar was attended by 24 people, including staff and experts of the Synodal Department for Charity, including Veronika Leontieva, head of the department of assistance to people with disabilities of the Synodal Department for Charity, Tatiana Zaltsman, head of the Department of Social Work of the Theological Faculty of PSTSU, and Sergei Chisty, chairman of the board of the charitable foundation «City for All.
In the course of the seminar Veronika Leontieva spoke about the social support provided by the Synodal Department for Charity to the victims of the conflict zone and their families. She also noted that church projects previously associated with helping people with disabilities have begun to support those who have returned from the front and their families. Thus, the hippotherapy center «Healing Essentuki» Pyatigorsk Diocese now conducts rehabilitation for the wounded. And the St. John of Kronstadt Center of the Shakhtinsky Eparchy regularly organizes week-long programs for psychological and pedagogical support and habilitation of children with disabilities from Donbass.
