On March 17, an interactive exhibition "Soldiers of the First World War" will be held near the Ratnaya Palata. It will start the cycle of the museum's events for the 10th anniversary of the opening of the museum "Russia in the Great War" in the Ratnaya Palata and the 110th anniversary of the beginning of the First World War - these dates will be celebrated in August 2024.
On the third Sunday of March military-historical reconstruction clubs will present the armies of the Russian Empire and other countries-participants of the First World War. The action will last six hours: from 10.00 to 16.00. Entrance to the event is free.
Visitors will see a full display of marching equipment of Russian infantryman of the beginning of XX century, samples of small arms, items of military life of soldiers of the First World War. Participants of the military-historical clubs "Leib-Guardia Preobrazhensky Regiment" and "199th Infantry Kronstadt Regiment" will demonstrate the basic formation techniques of the Russian infantry, will conduct tactical exercises on the statutes of the early XX century. Representatives of the club of military-historical reconstruction "17th Don Cossack General Baklanov Regiment" will show items of horse equipment of Cossack units, tell how cavalrymen of that time managed their horses.
The guests will talk to the reconstructors, look at rare items and listen to the music of those years.
Those who wish can buy a ticket to the museum in the Ratnaya Palata: on this day from 12.00 to 16.00 in addition to the audio guide there will be organized tours.
