The exhibition "The Royal Family: Love and Mercy" opened at HSE

On March 12 in the building of the Cultural Center of the National Research University Higher School of Economics on Pokrovsky Boulevard was held the grand opening of the photo exhibition "The Royal Family: Love and Mercy", which presents 260 historical photographs depicting the life and ministry of the family of Nicholas II. Thematically, the exhibition is divided into three blocks: - Love and Family: the love story of Nicholas II and Alexandra Feodorovna, bright and sensual moments of the royal family's life, and warm relationships with children. - Nicholas II's public service: the patriotic duty of the last Russian emperor, active reforms and strengthening of the people's welfare. - Works of mercy: charitable and patronage activities of the royal family, helping neighbors and self-sacrifice. The opening ceremony was addressed by the Vice-Rector of the National Research University Higher School of Economics - D.I. Zemtsov, the author of the collection of photographs Hieromonk Ignatius (Shestakov), priest Dmitry Danilov, a master's student of the Higher School of Economics, Deputy Chairman of the Moscow Diocesan Commission for work with universities. Candidate of Historical Sciences A.A. Borisyuk presented a report on the theme: "The main achievements of Nicholas II as a ruler and statesman", and then a short program was followed by a concert by the choir of seminarians of the Sretensky Theological Academy under the direction of monk Grigory Panfilova. After the concert, all guests could familiarize themselves with the photos and their history using the audio guide and thanks to tour guides from among HSE students. The exhibition opening and the exposition were visited by the Rector of HSE N.Y. Anisimov and Hegumen John (Ludishchev), Vicar of the Sretensky Monastery in Moscow. The exhibition will be available for visiting from March 13 to March 17 inclusive in the format of independent study upon registration and in the format of organized tour groups. All information about registration for visits will be published in a special Telegram channel. The sound accompaniment, available at the stands by QR codes, will introduce the epistolary heritage of the Royal Family, will allow you to learn the history of photographs and get into the atmosphere of family relations of the holy royal Passion-Bearers. The exhibition was prepared and organized by the student organization "Christian Club of Higher School of Economics" and teachers of the Department of Psychology of the National Research University Higher School of Economics. The Christian Club of the Higher School of Economics thanked the University administration and specialized structures responsible for mass events, the administration and students of the Sretensky Theological Seminary, as well as the brethren of the Sretensky Monastery for their help and support in organizing the exhibition.
