On November 15, 2024 at 16.00 in the Sergiev Posad Museum-Reserve will be held the grand opening of a large-scale exhibition project «Through love and unity we will be saved» dedicated to St. Sergius of Radonezh.
The exhibition will not only introduce the events of the earthly life of the founder of the Trinity Monastery and the tradition of its centuries-long reckoning, but will also present the history of the Trinity Monastery.

According to Natalia Grigorieva, First Deputy Director of the Sergiev Posad Museum-Reserve, «for the first time in one exposition space in the immediate vicinity of the Trinity Monastery visitors will see the most famous works of iconography, archaeological monuments and relics of the XIV-XX centuries, paintings of famous Russian artists associated with St. Sergius. We can say that on the Radonezh land their unity takes place for the glory of the greatest ascetic of the Russian land, the protector and helper given to it for all times.
Svetlana Nikolaeva, deputy director of the Sergiev Posad Museum-Reserve for scientific work, curator of the exhibition, noted: «One of the most important themes of the exhibition — heavenly protection of the St. Sergius of Radonezh to the Russian people and state "from the enemies who find", help to the soldiers who defended the Fatherland. At all times, as the famous Russian writer Boris Konstantinovich Zaitsev wrote, "by word, appearance, prayer he supports Russia". For the exhibition project we have chosen the most striking events and themes of Russian history: the Battle of Kulikovo, the heroic defense of the Trinity-St. Sergius Monastery in 1608-1610, "Reverend Sergius and Russian sovereigns", which have the greatest educational and educational potential.

Grekov Studio of Military Artists, Russian State Library.
For the first time at the exhibition will be shown a full set of items related to the unique icon-reliquary «Apparition of the Mother of God to St. Sergius of Radonezh» XVI century from the collection of Sergiev Posadsky Museum-Reserve. This icon symbolically unites many generations of defenders of the Fatherland: it accompanied Russian troops on campaigns from the XVII century until the First World War.
Total of more than 200 museum items will be exhibited, including famous works from the funds of Sergiev Posad Museum-Reserve and more than 90 exhibits from the collections of the participants of the exhibition, including paintings by M.V. Nesterov, V.M. Vasnetsov, S.D. Miloradovich, the banner of Dmitry Mikhailovich Pozharsky of the early XVII century, unique icons. Most of the exhibits provided by the participants of the project are demonstrated for the first time in Sergiev Posad Museum-Reserve.
The exposition and exhibition project will continue its development in 2025. In March it is planned to hold a re-exposition based on the collections of the Sergiev Posad Museum-Reserve and with the involvement of new partners.
