On November 4, 2024, on the feast of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America and New York and the temporary administrator of the Patriarchal parishes in the United States and Canada Bishop Matthew of Sourozh celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in Newark, New Jersey, USA, the website of the Moscow Patriarchate Representative Office in the United States reports.

At the service were Archpriest Mark Buracek, rector of the church, and the clergy of the Eastern American Diocese and parishes of the Moscow Patriarchate in the United States.
At the end of the service, Metropolitan Nicholas addressed the participants of the service with an archpastoral word and heartily congratulated the rector, clergy and parishioners of the Kazan Church on the Throne Feast. Vladyka warmly welcomed Bishop Matthew, wishing him a blessed stay in the American land and God's help in his archpastoral labors.
