The documentary "The Victor of Death", filmed in the Visoki Dečani Monastery in Kosovo and Metohija, tells about the days of the last week of the Easter Lent, known also as the Holy Week, and about the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The footage of divine services and monastic life was recorded by Belgrade production center "Cinnamon Production" in 2009. The significance of each of these days of Holy Week is explained by quotations from the Gospel, texts of the Lenten Triodion of Holy Week, sermons of St. John Chrysostom, St. Bishop Nicholas of Zich and St. Father Justin of Celia. Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and Primorye, being at the time of filming one part of the movie, in 2010, the administrator of the Diocese of Raško-Prizren, explains the meaning of all the most important events of the last week of Christ's earthly life, tells about His sufferings for us and the meaning of Christ's Resurrection.
The events of the Holy Week described in the Gospels and the events that followed immediately after Christ's Resurrection are illustrated in the movie with unique frescoes of the Dechan Church, depicting in detail everything that happened during those great days.
The initiator and organizer of the film screening is the charity organization "SERBIAN YOUTH - FOR KOSOVO AND METOCHIA". The screening will take place on April 25 at 19:00 in the Russian House (Kraљica Natalije 33, Belgrade). Entrance is free.
