Last summer, together with he visited the village of Nyuchpas in the Komi Republic with young people from the parishes of the North-Eastern and South-Eastern Vicariates. Here the church of Righteous Procopius of Ustyuga was being restored. All-Night Vigil and Divine Liturgy were celebrated. More than 300 people prayed - volunteers, Moscow youth, and local residents. Archbishop Matthew addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. "Participation in the project," said the bishop, "leaves an indelible trace in the souls of volunteers. It is especially important for young people. Here we can clearly see an example when a person does not spend his free time in idleness, but as a true Christian devotes his time, vacation or vacations to God, to the service of the Church, to a real common good deed. I believe that not only temples are built and restored in the project, but human lives are restored and created. Those who unselfishly, with a pure heart take part in it. It should be noted the special love of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia for the project "Common Cause", through whose prayers and care the project continues its work". Vladyka expressed the hope that next year young people from other Moscow districts would join the expeditions. Archpriest Alexei Yakovlev summarized the results of the work for the past year. A total of 68 expeditions took place during this time, in which 750 volunteers from different regions of Russia took part. Work was carried out in 32 churches and chapels in the Russian North. Divine Liturgies were celebrated in 11 churches, in five of them - for the first time in decades since they were closed. The head of the Foundation "Elizabeth-Sergius Enlightenment Society" A.V. Gromova emphasized that in the Year of the Family it is very important to create conditions for young people to communicate, work together, create and pray, as it happens in the expeditions of the project. It is thanks to such joint activities that people get to know each other better, find friends, and create strong Orthodox families. Bishop Alexander of Plesetsk and Kargopolsk emphasized: "Such general reporting meetings give us an opportunity to look each other in the eyes, to thank all those who work in the places in which we live! The whole Common Cause movement can be defined by the word "family". And our Common Cause speaks about family relationships, about the love that should reign in a family. About the love that unites all the inhabitants of our country. It is love for ancestors, for traditions, for the temple and the Church. And even those people who live outside our homeland and participate in expeditions, fill this big family and become involved in the common cause. The meeting ended with a festive concert.
