On December 26, 2023, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, in cooperation with the Synodal Department for Monasteries and Monasticism, the Lugansk Diocese held a round table on "Honoring local ascetics of piety, new martyrs and confessors of the Church of Russia in monasteries".
The event was attended by bishops, hegumens and abbesses, monastics and clergy of Berdyansk, Horlivka, Donetsk, Luhansk, Rovenky and Severodonetsk dioceses.
The following topics were offered for consideration:
"Traditions of honoring ascetics of piety and new martyrs in diocesan monasteries";
"Historical research, difficulties and prospects";
"Monastic New Martyrs and Confessors who suffered during the years of persecution in the diocese";
"Experience of popularization of the hagiography, feats of new martyrs and ascetics of piety among various audiences";
"Search for new forms of honoring the new martyrs".
Metropolitan Panteleimon of Lugansk and Alchevsk addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.
The welcoming address of the Chairman of the Synodal Department for Monasteries and Monasticism, Metropolitan Theognost of Kashirsk, was read by the Mother Superior of the Marfo-Marian Monastery of Mercy in Moscow, Hegumeness Elisaveta (Pozdnyakova).

At the end of the speakers' presentations, the Secretary of the Department for Monasteries and Monasticism of the Lugansk Diocese, Archimandrite Sergius (Gromovik), announced the final resolution of the round table.
In his closing remarks, Metropolitan Panteleimon thanked the speakers for their shared experience in preserving the historical pages of the biographies of diocesan ascetics and perpetuating the glorious memory of the holy saints God's.
