On December 13th / 26th, 2023, in the Chapel of Holy Pentecost in the Hall of the Patriarchate, His Divine Beatitude Our Father and Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem celebrated the monastic tonsure of novice Andrew Hadzistabulidis, giving him the name Alexander. The new monk served successfully in Pretoria, Gethsemane and Bethlehem. At the same time, His Beatitude blessed the monastic robes of the novices Alexander and Christos, who served in the Most Holy Church of the Resurrection.
His Beatitude addressed words of encouragement to the new monk and the novices dressed in the cassock, emphasizing the honor and responsibility of the monk's membership in the Order of the "Spudeans", the monks of the Most Holy Sepulchre.
In the spirit of these words and in connection with the upcoming feast of the Nativity of Christ, His Beatitude wished the monk and the novices strength from on high for a worthy Holy Sepulchre witness to a thirsty world, inspired by the Cross and the Resurrection of Christ
