The participants of the event discussed the main results of work in the field of interethnic and interfaith relations for the past year, as well as outlined plans and objectives for 2024, according to the website of the Crimean Metropolitan Church. Opening the meeting, Sergey Aksyonov emphasized the importance of preserving interethnic and interfaith harmony in Crimea. "We manage to develop and move forward precisely due to the fact that all peoples living in the Republic, respect each other's traditions and culture, do not divide along national or religious lines. There will be no conflicts on interethnic grounds in Crimea. Of course, this is a great merit of spiritual leaders representing traditional confessions and public figures, whose mutual understanding is an example for people," the Head of Crimea said. At the same time, the head of the republic noted that it was necessary to continue consolidating around President Vladimir Putin. "Crimea is developing primarily due to the efforts and to the attention of our Leader, including in the issues of ensuring interethnic peace and harmony. We all need to act as one, support the President and his decisions for the most effective fulfillment of all tasks," Aksyonov added. In turn, the Head of the Crimean Metropolitanate His Eminence Metropolitan Tikhon of Simferopol and Crimea emphasized the important role of the leaders of religious organizations of traditional confessions in preserving inter-ethnic and inter-religious harmony. According to Vladyka, thanks to the joint work of federal and regional authorities with the clergy, mutual respect and unity of all peoples is preserved in the country. Mufti of Muslims of Crimea Haji Emirali Ablaev urged to treat the issues of interethnic and interreligious relations with all seriousness, calling mutual respect the main component of peace and harmony in Crimea. As the Mufti said, people of all nationalities and religions should be able to listen to and appreciate each other for the benefit of all.
