On December 27, 2023, at a meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, a report was heard from the chairman of the Synodal Commission on the Canonization of Saints, Bishop Pankraty of Troitsk, on the approval of the roll-call list of the Council of Radonezh Saints and the addition of some diocesan Councils of Saints (Journal No. 130).
On May 16 of this year (Journal No. 31), the Holy Synod determined: "On further supplementing the roll-call lists of local councils of saints, as well as on the approval of new lists, to have a judgment as they are prepared by the Synodal Commission on the Canonization of Saints in collaboration with the Department of Affairs of the Moscow Patriarchate and the relevant dioceses, with the presentation of the results of the work to the Holy Synod".
The participants of the meeting decided to approve the roll-call list of the Council of Radonezh saints according to the annex to this journal.
In connection with the request of Metropolitan Barsonophy of St. Petersburg and Ladoga, the roll-call list of the Council of Saints of the St. Petersburg Metropolis was supplemented with the names of the holy martyrs Nikolai Prozorov and Sergius Tikhomirov, as well as St. Righteous Eugene Botkin.
In connection with the request of Metropolitan Isidore of Smolensk and Dorogobuzh, the roll-call list of the Council of Saints of Smolensk was supplemented with the name of St. Ignatius, Bishop of Smolensk.
