Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Immortal Mary

Успение Пресвятой Богородицы и Бессмертной Марии
In Birth Thou hast preserved Thy virginity, for what is born is the will of God; in Sleep Thou hast not forsaken the world, O Theotokos, but remainest a constant sustainer and comforter for every man who blesses Thee and magnifies Thy Son and God. Thou hast passed into life, the mother of existing life, and by Thy embassies Thou hast redeemed our souls from death.

Orthodox Christians today celebrate the metastasizing into heaven of the eternal Mary. When the fullness of time of the earthly life of the Theotokos came, the Angel of the Lord conveyed to Her the message of authorization three days before. He went to pray on the Mount of Olives. Then She returned to the house of the Beloved Disciple and announced Her departure from the earth.

The apostles, however, were not all in Jerusalem ( "Thearchies beckoned everywhere.... ὑπὸ nefῶν metarsios airomeni") miraculously they all gathered around her venerable tabernacle and with psalms and hymns brought her down and laid her in a tomb. in Gethsemane.

"The delight of angels, the joy of mourners, the patron saint of Christians," is our person close to the throne of God. Her embassies are constant and uninterrupted, her patronage a firm anchor of hope for men who turn to her with reverence and experiential knowledge of her worth and position.

The Virgin Mary is eternal (before, during her pregnancy, and after the birth of the God-man Savior) the coffin could not To keep Her dead. And so, as the mother of life, She passed into life, to the Son and Word of God and His Son.

In the person of the Theotokos lives the constant miracle of the presence of God. She lives after death, always saving the faithful people who are her inheritance.

The monasteries and temples of Our Lady are celebrated. Thought in the ruined monastery of Panagia in Katara southwest of Larnaca, Lapitos, below Kyparissovoun, Pentadactylos.

Let us demand the salvation of our souls and the liberation of our Turkish-occupied homeland and resettlement in peace and respect for human rights.
