On August 12, H.H. Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin the young Armenians participating in the All-Armenian Benevolent Union (AGBU) "Discover Armenia" project, accompanied by the organization's President Tiar Vazgen Yacoubian. At the meeting, Tiar Yacoubian, asking for the blessing of His Holiness, underlined that the goal of AGBU "Discover Armenia" program is to strengthen the connection of Armenian youth from all over the world with the Motherland, to introduce them to the Armenian culture and spiritual heritage through pilgrimage, educational and cultural programs. Mr. Yacoubian also informed that within the framework of the program the young Armenians of Armenia participate in various voluntary humanitarian and public programs, and today they are planning to carry out volunteer work in the Holy See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
Giving his blessing and fatherly message to those present, the Catholicos of All Armenians highly appreciated the similar programs implemented by the All-Armenian Benevolent Union, thanks to which Diaspora Armenian youth have the opportunity to get to know the Homeland and strengthen their national spirit and consciousness.
The Armenian Patriarch expressed confidence that the young people will get acquainted with the homeland and will become even more aware of the national spirit and consciousness. inspired by the Motherland, will be able to use their abilities to overcome the challenges facing the Armenian people and build a bright future.
