On Sunday, 28. April 2024, the Feast of the Blossom, the day on which the Church commemorates the entry of our Lord Jesus Christ after the resurrection of Lazarus into Jerusalem, sitting on a donkey, was celebrated in the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, with Jewish children accompanying and saluting palm branches and singing "Hosanna, son of David, Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord".
The celebration began on Saturday with an evening service led by his BeatitudePatriarch Theophilus of Jerusalem. On Sunday morning, the Patriarch and his entourage traveled from the Patriarchate to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, holding palm branches in their hands. The Holy Liturgy was celebrated by Patriarch Theophilos, accompanied by Hierarchs Isikhios of Capitol Hill, Theophanes of Gerasa, Dorotheos of Abel, Constantine Aristarchus, Methodios of Tavira, Theodosios of Evastia and Demetrios of Lydia, numerous clergy and guests from Russia and Romania.
