The city governor presented Sevastopol families with awards: medals "For Love and Fidelity" and "Sevastopol Family", as well as letters of thanks to the winners of the regional stage of the All-Russian contest "Family of the Year-2024", reports IA "Sevastopol". The award ceremony was held on July 8 at the Sevastopol Center for Culture and Art, Mikhail Razvozhayev said.
"Met dozens of beautiful Sevastopol couples today. Many of them have been married for over 50 years! There were couples who met while still in high school. There were those whose marriage was registered by our Sevastopol legend - Maria Karpovna Baida. All of them thank their husbands and wives for the fact that through the years, through the trials that fate has prepared, they have managed to preserve the most important thing - love, respect and family warmth", - said about Mikhail Razvozhayev.
According to the governor, 523 families of Sevastopol will receive commemorative medals for the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity.
"As I have already said, in the near future 523 families will receive commemorative medals - that is, all those who have applied. Of course, I would like to congratulate everyone without exception today. But this would require a stadium, and the awarding would take several days. That is why the first awards were given to the families who have been married the longest or are known in Sevastopol. All those who were not congratulated today, we will definitely present medals in a solemn atmosphere at city and district events", - he said.
