January 11, 2023 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the State of Israel A.D. Viktorov visited the Russian Spiritual Mission in Jerusalem, where he met with the Head of the Mission Archimandrite Vassian (Zmeyev).
There was a thorough exchange of views on topical issues of state-confessional interaction. Practical aspects of strengthening the Russian spiritual and cultural presence in the Holy Land were touched upon, as well as issues of ensuring the security and inviolability of the immovable property of the Russian Spiritual Mission.
Special attention was paid to discussing the prospects for the resumption of unimpeded pilgrimage trips by Russian citizens to Israel.
Hegumen Nikon (Golovko), Secretary of the Mission, took part in the meeting.
