The Holy Liturgy was presided over by His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch Mr.. Porphyry Church of St. Sava in Vračar and the Serbian Orthodox Theological Seminary of St. Sava today celebrated a baptism to commemorate the burning of the relics of St. Sava.
Addressing the gathering, His Holiness the Patriarch said that there are no conditions of life in which it is impossible to live Christ. - St. Sava taught us this, he put us on this path, so that through his prayers, love and the grace of God we would always remain faithful to Christ," Patriarch Porphyrios emphasized.
- In the joy of Christ's Resurrection, in the joy and light of the victory of life over death, truth over lies and justice over injustice, we also celebrate Him who once and for all decided, determined and guided us to walk in that life, that light, that truth and that justice guide us, and that justice is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. Saint Sava, by the Providence of God, by the grace of God, but also by his feat and effort - for everything in human life is the result of the grace of God and the effort of man - formed us with the words of Christ's Gospel, established us in the Orthodox faith and made the Gospel what it is, by the fact that we recognize each other, - said the patriarch.
His Eminence Bishop of Toplich, Mr. Petar said in his preaching that St. Sava, though a Serbian, is also universal and heavenly.
After the holy Eucharistic assembly at St. Sava Church, the Patriarch, accompanied by several bishops, visited St. Sava Seminary, where he was warmly welcomed by the rector, Protodeacon Radomir Vrucinic, as well as the teachers and students of the oldest seminary. High School in Belgrade.
The archpriest of our Holy Church consecrated the Slavonic gifts and broke the Slavonic cake in the presence of the Archbishop, numerous clergy, priests and monks and guests, to the joy and spiritual benefit of "those who teach and are taught." . . After the consecration of the Slavonic gifts, Patriarch Porphyrios congratulated the baptismal glory, and then emphasized in an appropriate sermon:
- We have St. Sava as the cornerstone of our nation, but not by himself and independently, but someone as the cornerstone of our nation, sealed by Christ and founded in Christ. He is for us the watershed of our history, our national and spiritual existence. We have him as our spiritual father, as the one who baptized and anointed us, who baptized us in the name of Christ and anointed us to be Christ's.
His Holiness concluded his address by wishing the students, future priests, servants of the Throne of the Lord and professors that St. Sava would truly be their patron, as well as an example for the role models and role models.
