Students of the Military Gymnasium and the Military Vocational School "1300 Corporal" January 27 solemnly celebrated St. Sava's Day in the premises of the Military Gymnasium.
The ceremony commemorating the first Serbian educator and teacher was attended by State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Mile Jelić, Rector of the University of Defence Brigadier General Prof. Dr. Boban Ćorović, Head of the Public Relations Department Brigadier General doc. Dr. Mihajlo Zogović, Head of the Military Academy, Colonel Prof. Dr. Srdjan Blagojević, and numerous guests.
The rite of consecrating the zhita and breaking the Slavski kolache was performed by military priests Major Archpriest Nemanja Petrović, Captain Priest Slavko Papić and Priest Jovan Babić, with students singing.
Lieutenant Colonel Blagoje Đačić, Head of the Higher Military School, noted that the students are dedicated to the educational process and training, and that through human and military virtues they are becoming mature and capable future non-commissioned officers and officers of the Serbian Army.
- Just as St. Sava worked day and night to enlighten and educate the Serbian people, building both church and state, preserving the language and written language, so we, for whom St. Sava is a role model, work day and night. and diligently to teach and educate our students, to build and improve military education, as well as to build and secure the future of the Serbian Armed Forces," Lt. Col. Đačić emphasized.
The students of the military schools put on a special performance dedicated to St. Sava.
