Parents' Saturday in the Patriarchate

According to the Statutes of the Triodion, the Patriarchate has dedicated Saturday, February 25th   9  March 2024, to prayer for the repose of souls.


To this end, on Friday evening in the Monastery and Patriarchal Church of Saints Constantine and Helen, the Canon for the Deceased was recited and a memorial prayer was offered, led by His Beatitude Our Father and Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem, for the repose of the departed Holy Sepulchers, the venerable Patriarchs of Jerusalem, Hierarchs, priests, monks and nuns.


On the morning of the said Saturday, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Zion Cemetery by Priest John in the service of Fr. George Baramka and the care of Archimandrite Matthew, the Superintendent of the Patriarchal School of Senior Dragoman. At the conclusion of the Liturgy, His Eminence Archbishop Aristarchus of Constantine celebrated the requiem and Trisagion for the deceased Holy Sepulchre Fathers buried there, and Priests Farah Bandur and George Baramki also celebrated the requiem for the deceased members of our Orthodox flock.
