Your work was carried out at the headquarters of the Church of Alexandria, with its two-thousand-strong apostolic heritage, its rich history and promising future, and in fact within the premises of this cherished monastic monastery. His Holiness' choice of this blessed place as your meeting place was not accidental. This remarkable monastery, whose history is lost in the depths of centuries, lies at the crossroads of East and West, at the junction of cultures and religions.
At a time of terrible divisions, temporary gains and bloody conflicts, especially in the wider Middle East, Ukraine, parts of Africa and elsewhere, bleeding not only our troubled world, but also the Church body, longing for peace, unity and love, a fact now recorded in the History of peaceful, fruitful and therefore blessed dialog among us, in this very God-given place, where our Lord as a child persecuted by the bloodthirsty Herod and as an immigrant found a place of safe hosting, is a shining example of the settlement of dialog, coexistence and cooperation. In this way hope for the future is strengthened with greater understanding, humility and solidarity, without, of course, diminishing our pristine faith, but with a willingness to give more space to the "neighbor".
From the peaceful land of Egypt, our Blessed Primate Pope Theodore II addresses Sunday greetings to His Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, the Blessed Orthodox Primates, members of the Lutheran World Federation, and the Christ-named crew under heaven.
With firm faith in the Archangel Christ, the Presbyterian Church of St. Mark the Apostle and Evangelist continues unceasingly and eternally into the future as an unsinkable Ark of Salvation for all the peoples of the African continent without distinction, her children, in favor of the enlightenment and advancement of those whom She has cherished and continues to work tirelessly and will always provide for them, the chosen without fear with cultures, traditions and beliefs, despite present difficult circumstances and evils. Having successfully navigated the salty seas of heresies and tempered Her identity on the edge of the pagan martyr's sword, She is not afraid of the ghostly Cyclopes and modern icy Lastrigons, She will remain an untainted Beacon of Apostolic and Patriarchal heritage, in the light of which every good person of choice will encounter the pure Gospel truth. Thanks be to God for all"
