On July 22, 2024, at the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate, met with a delegation from Lebanon headed by Mr. Sadreddin Sadr, son of the famous preacher, political and religious figure, theologian and philosopher Ayatollah Seyyid Musa (Musa Sadr).

Metropolitan Anthony warmly welcomed the guests within the walls of the Department for External Church Relations. During the conversation, the bishop, in particular, familiarized the interlocutors with the activities of the Russian Orthodox Church on interaction with the Islamic world, gave examples of interreligious dialog platforms.

Mr. Sadreddin Sadr, in turn, told about his father, a convinced supporter of the dialogue between religions and an authoritative religious leader, about his difficult fate. The sides discussed the role of religious leaders in the world agenda, and emphasized the importance of religious dialogue.
