On February 14, the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church will celebrate the Feast of Ternandaraj, which symbolizes the bringing of the 40-day-old baby Jesus to the Temple.
The beginning of the fertile feast was announced on the evening of February 13. ON. Under the presidency of the Second Supreme Patriarch, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin, an evening service was held at St. Gayane Monastery with the participation of the Mother See of the Congregation of Holy Etchmiadzin.
At the end of the service, the Catholicos of All Armenians presided over a pre-holiday service, after which the first Andastan of the year was celebrated, and the four sides of the world were consecrated.
Then to the chorus of "Christ Glorified" His Holiness handed over to the faithful present the life-giving light symbolizing Jesus Christ with a candle lit from the altar of St. Gayane Monastery.
After the pre-ceremony, the procession of clergy proceeded to the perimeter of the parish building, where the Ternandaraj fire was lit by the hand of the Armenian Patriarch in the presence of many Armenian faithful. His Holiness also presented crosses to the Armenian faithful.
