On August 18, the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church celebrated the Feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God .
On the occasion of the feast, the Mother See Congregation of Holy Etchmiadzin, H.S.O.T.T. Under the leadership of His Holiness Karekin, the Second Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, participated in the Holy Liturgy at St. Gayane Monastery. Director of the "Garegin A" Educational Center of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin delivered the solemn address. Bishop Hovhannisyan of Vahan.
Presenting the council of the feast, the Liturgical Hierarch emphasized: "Our Lady has an important role for our Church and people, which is reflected in the hymns and services of the Church, as well as our altars are decorated with the image of the Mother of God" . On this occasion, the liturgical bishop emphasized that the Theotokos, being an ordinary person, realizing the difficulties of human life, without hesitation courageously obeyed the Archangel's words, becoming the Mother of the Incarnate God. "The Theotokos, by submitting her will to the will of God, first of all became the occasion and means for the realization of God's plan of salvation. By this he also taught us an important lesson that regardless of the realities of life we must submit to the will of the Lord '" the Holy Father noted.
In conclusion, Bishop Vahan asked God's intercession that God would strengthen our faith and awakened the spirit of selflessness and courage in each of us.
After the end of the Holy Liturgy, the church procession headed from St. Gayane Monastery to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, the open altar of St. Trdat, where the Catholicos of All Armenians presided. Bunches of consecrated grapes were distributed to the faithful people.
