On August 5 in Belanka, on the feast of the Pochaev Icon of the Mother of God, the Holy Liturgy was led by His Eminence His Eminence Paisiusz, Archbishop of Peremyshl and Gorlice. The Ruler was assisted by the clergy: Archimandrite Teofil, Fr. Mitrats Roman Dubec and Andrzej Hrycz, and priests Fr. Miroslaw Cydylo, Michal Konik and Jaroslaw Hrycz. After the Gospel, Fr. addressed the faithful. Michal Konik from Komańczy. The preacher urged the faithful to give themselves completely to the heavenly care of the Blessed Virgin Mary and entrust all their sorrows and joys to Her. A local choir sang during the Liturgy. Maria Hrych, singing beautiful chords in accordance with the Carpathian-Lemkos tradition of Orthodox church singing.
After the procession, Archbishop Paisius welcomed all those gathered and emphasized the role of the Mother of God on our path to salvation and Her maternal help in the fight against evil, which our ancestors experienced in a special way. Belanka is the best testimony of Our Lady's maternal love - when the church was taken away from us, the Blessed Virgin did not abandon this small handful of believers and gave them this church. 10 years ago our rector, Metropolitan Savva, with the assistance of the episcopate of our Church, consecrated it and entrusted it to the heavenly care of the Mother of God, whom we praise today in Her marvelous Pochay Icon. In his speech The Archpastor also touched upon the 100th anniversary of the autocephaly of our Church - independence, thanks to which we are today and testify to Holy Orthodoxy. Despite historical hardships, we bring the most precious things to today's world - faith, hope and love - concluded Vladyka.
Master of bell casting Zbigniew Felczynski from Tatiszewo was present at the ceremony.
After the spiritual feast, all the faithful and guests were invited to a common dinner prepared by the parishioners of Bialyan.
