On Monday, July 1, the meeting of Orthodox youth from more than twenty countries officially began. For the third time, ninety people came to the Annunciation Monastery and Academy in Suprasl for the meeting "Suprasl 2024 - International Meeting of Orthodox Youth".
The meeting is organized by "OrtNet" Association in cooperation with "Suprasl: World Brotherhood of Orthodox Youth" and other Orthodox organizations working with youth. "Suprasl 2024" is held with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Savva. The event is supported by an international team of people working with youth and the Orthodox Youth Brotherhood in Poland.
The purpose of the Suprasl 2024 meeting is to gather young people from local Orthodox Churches around the world to experience the unity and universality of the Church, to support each other in their faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and to motivate them to actively participate in the life of the Church. The annual event began on Monday when the group received a commemorative address from His Eminence Metropolitan Sava, head of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church. In his message, His Eminence thanked the youth for their efforts in spreading Orthodoxy to the world around them. The nine-day event, through seminars, lectures, art, film, music, and hands-on activities, will explore the main theme of the meeting, "It's Time for the Lord to Act: Liturgy and Creation." The proposed format will offer a variety of sessions exploring the question of Christ's activity in the world. Workshop topics will include practical environmental projects for individuals, families and parishes. It will explore the content of Orthodox worship services and the location of nature and the created world within them. He will present the Church's teaching on environmental protection, environmental responsibility, and answer many questions related to moral issues.

"We are confident that the young people coming to Suprasl will take advantage of this opportunity to share ideas, explore common problems, and build new relationships and contacts that will prepare them for further growth in their faith and active service to their communities."
