Remembering the martyrs who innocently died on their doorsteps, pious people from all Serbian regions traditionally gather at the church-popular gathering Da se si zabori in front of the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Bratunac, where, on Saturday, July 6, His Holiness Patriarch of Serbia Mr. Porfirje will serve the Holy Liturgy and commemoration of the victims of the Serbs of Bereza and Middle Podrinje.
The area of Sredne Podrinje and Birča is equal to the greatest places of death of the Serbian people, repeating here the vow of St. Prince Lazar, that what is earthly is for a small empire, but what is heavenly is always and forever - these are the words of Patriarch Porfirje, which best describe the feat and suffering of the Bratunac Serbs.
