Trikala (Thessaly, Greece), July 4, 2024.

A special event is taking place in Meteora - for the first time in 500 years, a new temple is being built there, Trikalaola.gr reports.
In Holy Trinity Monastery, one of the six active monasteries located on top of the grandiose cliffs of the famous ancient mountain "monastic country" (the second most important center of Orthodox monasticism in Greece after Mount Athos), a church is being built in honor of the Entrance of the Blessed Virgin Mary into the Temple.

On Monday, June 24, 2024, the Feast of the Holy Spirit, Metropolitan Theoklitos (Lambrinakos) of Stagon and Meteora visited the Holy Trinity Monastery, where he celebrated the Divine Liturgy. After the service, hegumen Dometii led the Metropolitan around the territory of the monastery and, in particular, showed him the new church under construction.
The construction of the church is scheduled to be completed in about a year.
