August 15, 2024, the Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl Veniamin met with State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev at the Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl Eparchial Administration.
The issues of publishing a new book within the framework of the historical and cultural project «Library of the Union State» about the famous figure of Slavic culture Simeon Polotsky were discussed during the meeting. Dmitry Mezentsev thanked the Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus for his attention to this publication and assistance in its preparation.
In the course of the meeting the parties noted the special importance of the spiritual tradition that unites Russians and Belarusians, as well as the invariability of the peoples' respect for traditional values.
The importance of the forthcoming bringing, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, of a part of the holy relics of St. Euphrosyne, Abbess of Polotsk, to churches and monasteries in Russia and a part of the relics of St. Euphrosyne of Moscow to churches and monasteries in Belarus was especially emphasized.

A discussion was also held on the possibilities for Russian benefactors to help build a bell tower in the Assumption Zhirovichi church monastery.
«This monastery, which for 500 years has not closed the doors of its temples to parishioners, is one of the significant shrines of the Russian Orthodox Church. Today, services are fully performed here, future clergymen are trained, and extensive educational and excursion work is carried out, which invariably confirms the spiritual unity of the peoples of the brotherly countries» — Metropolitan Veniamin noted in the conversation.
At the end of the meeting, the bishop invited Dmitry Mezentsev to participate in the Christmas readings, which will be held in December.
