His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch Mr. Porfirje celebrated the Holy Liturgy on November 10, 2024 at the Church of St. Sava on Vračar. The Holy Liturgy was translated into sign language for the current hearing and speech impaired faithful from the City Organization of the Deaf in Belgrade.
- Love as essence, as the essence of what we are and what the whole world is, confirms the presence in us of the creative urge, the building urge, the inclination to create, to build and improve everything, especially ourselves and our relationships with those to whom we are directed. Love confirms and reveals that we have a longing for duration, not a duration limited by time and space, but a duration that breaks through and breaks the boundaries of time and space. There is a deep need within us for eternal duration, and that is nothing less than eternal life. Eternal life is living in community in the arms of those not only whom we care for, but whom we truly love and who give meaning to our lives - Patriarch Porphyrios preached and emphasized:
- Christ is the source of meaning, He is love in Himself and therefore He is the source of love. Consequently, everything we have, like the world around us and the world within us, exclusively and only if it is connected with life, with the source of life, with Christ, receives the power of life, the power of not only duration as being. and existence, but the power of life as the experience and reality of love and community, the experience of embrace with Christ, by which we embrace each other and embrace the whole world. In that embrace in which he exists as the eternal God, we also exist in and with him. There, of course, the key link that binds us to Christ is our faith, a faith that is dead without works, a faith that turns into love, a faith that is a total surrender and trust in Jesus Christ, the Son of God and our Savior.
His Holiness Patriarch Porphyrios was served by the Venerable Vicar Hierarchs: Stephen of Remezia, Peter of Toplitz, Nikon of Enopolis and Tikhon of Moravia; clergy and deacons with the prayerful participation of many faithful people.
