We are baptized and born to be able, above all, to participate in all that is the life of the Church, which has its culmination in the holy Liturgy, in the holy mystery of Communion. To be able to receive Communion with a clear conscience, it is understood that the effort includes fasting and prayer. However, given that we are human beings who are weak and powerless, so we sin and fall, it implies both repentance and confession, in a word, it implies our direct, organic connection with our spiritual leader, the priest who will know best how to guide us. and introduce us to the mysteries of the life of the Church," Patriarch Porphyrios noted.
