The Office of the Orthodox Metropolitan of Warsaw and All Poland publishes the text of the message of His Eminence Sava, Orthodox Metropolitan of Warsaw and All Poland, delivered on the occasion of the Feast of the Resurrection of the Lord in 2024 in Polish. Television.
Christ is Risen!
"Great are You, O Lord, and great are Your works." Glory be to Thee!
Today, in the year 2024, we address the Risen Christ in this way, celebrating His glorious resurrection from the dead. We are experiencing a special time in the life of our Church - the 100th anniversary of administrative independence - autocephaly. Orthodoxy came to the Vistula and the Polans in the 9th century from Byzantium in the Slavic language. The apostles of our ancestors were the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius and their disciples. Despite ups and downs, joys and experiences, it continues to this day. For this we thank the Risen Christ.
Throughout the history of Orthodoxy in the Republic of Poland, Christ has become for us the source of life, the power of our life and our salvation. Jesus Christ constantly calls us: "I am the resurrection and the life: whosoever believeth in me, though he die, yet shall he live" (John 11:23). 'Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last, the Living One. I was dead, and behold, I live forever, and have the keys of death and hell."(Rev. 1:17).
Brothers and sisters! Therefore, our faith has a deep meaning and leads us to to the inviolable light of the Empty Tomb, from which humanity on Blessed Saturday receives the Divine Fire that illuminates everyone and everything. This year - the year of the 100th anniversary of autocephaly - St. Petersburg. The Fire will come to us for the fifteenth time. It remains with us and illuminates our Church, our Motherland, our homes.
No one is like God! He, the Risen One, is constantly calling us: "Do not be afraid, I am with you"! Let us all enter into the joy of our Lord, a feast is prepared, let us all be filled with the feast of faith, let us all receive the riches of grace, let us taste the kingdom of Christ. This truth fills our hearts with faith and joy that lead us to "new life in and with Christ."
Brothers and sisters! Christ lives! We are living. Our Church lives and will continue to live because the Risen Lord constantly brings new strength, new rays of grace into Her and our lives, illuminating the daily burdens of our lives. The Church is our Mother. In this is our strength and salvation.
"Risen Christ, strengthen the Church, which You have purchased with Your most precious blood." Thank You that we preach You in the Orthodox way. Thank You for the entire history of Orthodoxy in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Thank You for 100 years of independence, joy and experience. Bless tomorrow's St. Your Church.
Brothers and sisters! On Easter Day, we embrace all humanity, the whole world with our prayer and love, because the power of the Easter joy can revitalize a cold human heart and fill it with faith and love.
The fullness of our Church: Archpastors, Clergy. I cordially congratulate monks, nuns, children and all the faithful at home and abroad on the Feast of Easter.
Christ is Risen! Christ is Risen!
Christ is risen from the dead! He is truly risen!
