Commemoration of the holy martyr Agapius and his companions

Память святого мученика Агапия и его сподвижников
Today our Holy Church honors the memory of the Martyr Agapius and his companions.

It is interesting to mention other Christians who were led to martyrdom together with him because of their love for Christ: Timolaus from the Black Sea, two Dionysiuses from Tripoli in Phoenicia, Romulus the hypodiacon from Lydda or Diospolis, Plisius and two Alexandrians from Egypt. They were all accused of being Christians, and were brought before Urbanos, the prefect of Caesarea, where they defiantly confessed the Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ.

They accepted martyrdom, remaining all of them an example and witness of courage and hope in the canon of our Holy Orthodox Church for all struggling Christians throughout the centuries.

Christians know the words of the New Testament, "Grace is multiplied when sin is multiplied" (Romans 5:20). What season is easy, what season is not difficult? At what point should a person who wants to live according to God's will not resolutely pursue a good deed?
