On December 16, under the leadership of the Second Supreme Patriarch Karekin and Catholicos of All Armenians, a procession of clergy, under the singing of hymns, brought the cross with the relics of Holy Patriarch Nerses Shnorhali into the church of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
The rite of consecration was performed in the Church of the Holy Angels, at the end of which His Holiness blessed the faithful present with the holy relic.
On the occasion of the 850th anniversary of the Blessed Patriarch's death, the relic was donated to the Mother See of St. George Church in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
