On June 3, 2024, Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov, rector of St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York City, Hegumen Nikodim (Balyasnikov), acting chancellor of Patriarchal Parishes in the United States, and Priest Mark Rashkov, acting rector of St. John the Baptist Church in Little Falls, New Jersey, participated in Russian Language Day at the United Nations.

The event was held at the United Nations General Assembly Building in New York City.

The event was held in the exhibition space «Sputnik» of the UN General Assembly building and was timed to coincide with the 225th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Pushkin. The event was organized by the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the UN.

An exhibition dedicated to Russian folk tales and the works of the great Russian poet was set up at the UN headquarters, the website of St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York reported
