Из пасхального послания патриарха Румынского Даниила
The Lord Jesus Christ, since Old Testament times, has represented himself as the one who accepted our weaknesses, sicknesses and sufferings. Thus, the prophet Isaiah says: "but he would be wounded for our transgressions, beaten for our iniquities; carr was on him for our peace, and by his wound we are healed" (Isaiah 53: 5). In other words, the prophet Isaiah says that the Messiah-Christ is not only the one who heals, but also the one who suffers and heals at the same time, the one who takes upon himself the sufferings and diseases of all mankind. His healing is first of all compassion, that is, sharing the suffering with the sufferer. In the New Testament, the sick seek healing from the Lord Jesus Christ, and his disciples are healed by the power given to them by God. In the Holy Gospel we see how important the healing work of the Lord Jesus Christ is. He not only preached, but, as the Gospel says, " and Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people" (Mt 9:35). ). There were always people around Jesus who came to him for healing of soul and body. The large number of healings in the holy Gospels shows us how important healing was to Jesus' mission in the world. In a sense, healing itself confirms his preaching, the way he proclaimed the power and compassionate of the presence of the God-man among men. For example, in the Gospel, the Lord Jesus Christ heals a leper (Mt 8: 2-4; Mk. 1: 40-45 and Lk. 5: 12-15); the servant of the Capetan at Capernaum (Mt 8: 5-13); Peter's tashta (Mt 8: 14-15 and Mk. 1: 29-31); the demonized Gadarince (Mt 8: 28-34); the gubavets from Capernaum (Mt 9: 1-8); the blind and neme from Capernaum (Mt 9: 27-35); the mute (Mt 17: 14-23); kћerka wife of Hananejke (Mt 15, 21-28); the blind man from Bethsaida (Mk 8, 22-26); krvotochna wife (Lk 7, 11-16); zgrchenna wife (Lk 13, 10-17); gubabe (Lk 17, 12-19); the blind man from Jericho (Lk 18, 35-43); the mute man from Baњe Bethesda (Jn 5, 1-15); the blind man (Jn 9, 1-38). Christ also performs miracles of resurrection from the dead; he raises the son of a widow from Nain (Lk 7 11-16), the daughter of Jairus (Lk 8: 41-56), and Lazarus from Bethany, his friend (Jn 11: 1-44). The healings performed by the Lord Jesus Christ show his directed and merciful love for people, but these healings also have a prophetic meaning, they are the beginning of the Kingdom of God in the world, the beginning of the final healing that will be realized in the New Heaven and the New Earth where there will be no tears and no death (Rev. public Resurrection to be the final healing of all people from death.
