Bishop Anthony was born on July 23, 1970, the day of the memory of St. Anthony of Kijepocer, in Valjevo, in the family of his father Radovan and mother Jelka (née Milicevic). He finished elementary school in Praisevic near Valjevo, after which he entered the Seminary of the Holy Three Saints in Krka Monastery, from which he successfully graduated in 1991. As a student of the seminary on September 23, 1989 in Krka Monastery, he was ordained a monk by Bishop Stefan of Žić, who ordained him on December 10, 1989 to the rank of hierodeacon in Žića Monastery, and to the rank of hieromonk on January 5, 1991, also in Žića Monastery. At the suggestion of Bishop Stefan of Žića and with the blessing of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Hieromonk Anthony entered the Moscow Theological Academy at the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra (Sergiev Posad) in 1992. He completed his academic studies in 1995/96. He successfully defended his PhD thesis (Department of Local Church History) on "The History of the Serbian Orthodox Church from 1945 to 1995". Being the best student of his generation, he was also a scholarship holder of the Moscow Theological Academy. By decision of the Academic Council of the Moscow Theological Academy on May 31, 1996, Hieromonk Anthony was awarded the academic title of Candidate of Theological Sciences at Moscow University. After his return from Russia in 1996, he was elevated to the rank of sindel and appointed vicar and treasurer of the Studenica Monastery, from where he later moved to the Metropolis of Dobrobosnensk and was accepted as a nun of the Dobrun Monastery. At the suggestion of Metropolitan Nicholas of Dobbosna, the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church in 2000 appointed St. Anthony as a professor at the Theological Seminary of St. Peter of Dobbosna in Foča. In the same year, he also taught at the Academy of Music at the University of Eastern Sarajevo. At the same time, he served as an Elder of the Cathedral of Sarajevo, where he was elevated to the rank of Archangel on Christmas 2001. In 2002, at the suggestion of Serbian Patriarch Pavel, the Holy Synod of Bishops elected Archangel Anthony as the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church's Podvorye in Moscow. Based on the decision of the Holy Synod of Bishops, Metropolitan Nicholas elevated Archangel Anthony to the rank of archimandrite on March 17, 2002 in the chapel of the Theological Academy of St. Basil of Ostroski in Foča. At the suggestion of the Patriarch of Serbia The Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church at its regular session in 2006 elected Archimandrite Anthony as Vicar Bishop of the Patriarch of Serbia with the title of Bishop of Moravia. The consecration was performed on July 23, 2006 in the Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel in Belgrade by Serbian Patriarch Pavel, assisted by eighteen archbishops. He received a Master's degree in Theology from the Russian Orthodox Institute of St. John the Theologian in Moscow, successfully defending his Master's thesis on "Liturgical Traditions in the Serbian Orthodox Church". At the International Academic Accreditation and Attestation Commission (IAAAC), he successfully defended his thesis on "Divine Service in the pre-Chalcedonian Churches", receiving the title of Doctor of Theology. Since 2003, Bishop Anthony has been teaching at the Russian Orthodox Institute "St. John the Theologian" in Moscow, where he was also head of the Department of Liturgical Theology until his election as Dean in 2018. By decision of the Academic Council of the Moscow Orthodox University of St. John the Theologian in 2018, Bishop Anthony was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Theology at the Moscow Orthodox University in Moscow. The above position he held until July 1, 2022. In 2019 at the Orthodox Theological Faculty Successfully defended his doctoral thesis on "Relations between the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Russian Orthodox Church in the period 1944-1950 on the materials of the archives of Russia and the Russian Orthodox Church". University of Prešov (Slovakia). He is the bearer of high church and state awards. He is the author of the following books and monographs: God visits this vineyard, Orthodox Moscow (guide to the Orthodox shrines of the Russian capital), Relations between the Serbian and Russian Orthodox Churches based on Russian archives, Holy Land of Serbia, In the embrace of the virgin city and Witness to the history and traditions of the living voice. He translated the following books: "Crossing the Borders of the Heart by Metropolitan Amvrosy (Ermakov) of Tver and Kashin, What Orthodox Christians Believe by Metropolitan Hilarion (Alfeyev) of Budapest and Hungary, Let Us Ask the Question about the Future of Mankind by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, and The Mystery of Miraculous Works by Metropolitan Amvrosy of Tver and Kashin. He has authored articles and works published in the Russian edition of the Orthodox Encyclopedia, as well as in the work of the Annunciation Agency "Way of Faith" and the publishing house "Podvorje" of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Moscow.
