On Thursday, March 1 / 14, 2024, His Divine Beatitude our Father and Patriarch Theophilus of Jerusalem visited the Holy Monastery of the Holy Cross, located in West Jerusalem, opposite
the Holy Cross.
During this visit, His Beatitude entrusted the abbacy of the monastery to the Venerable Archimandrite Christodoul, serving the Patriarchate on transfer from the Holy Metropolis of Patras.
On the same day, Mr. George Noll, representative of the American Consulate, responsible for Palestinian affairs, visited the monastery.
His Beatitude received Mr. Noll and, in the presence of Mr. Stavros Andreou, the restorer of icons and manuscripts, showed him the rooms of the monastery and the treasures of the library, which is undergoing remarkable restoration work in view of the establishment of a Center for Biblical Studies.
