An ancient manuscript and palimpsest of St. John Zosime returns to Georgia

Древняя рукопись и палимпсест Иоанна Зосиме возвращается в Грузию
We were very happy to learn that today at Christie's auction a palimpsest was purchased by the Georgian side, which includes, on the one hand, V-VII cent. material transcribed in Aramaic, essentially biblical and ascetic fragments of great importance from the point of view of studying the history of the text of Holy Scripture; And, on the other hand, extremely valuable for the history of Georgian church literature, liturgical texts transcribed in 979 by John Zosima, the greatest liturgist who worked on Mount Sinai. We are especially grateful to Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili, who, along with many world affairs, has enriched our cultural value with this most important manuscript. May God bless this great charity of his for the good of our Holy Church and Motherland.
