The Patriarchal See of Istanbul has been closely following this for several days: on May 28, the police of the Republic of Armenia arrested H.H. Karekin B. The insult committed against His Holiness the Patriarch of All Armenians and the reaction to this sad event.

The logic of valorizing the new Republican Presidents of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church will leave no surprise that such disturbing events should never happen again.


The Armenian Apostolic Church and the freedom of conscience and worship of its secular flock are embodied in the person of His Holiness the Patriarch of All Armenians. Regardless of any political circumstances, the encroachment on the values accepted in the civilized world is, unfortunately, hopeless from Armenia's point of view.


The Patriarchal See of Istanbul shares the position expressed by all the new Patriarchal Prelates of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the uproar in the Armenian world, reaffirming its full solidarity in favor of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and its See.
