"Andrei Rublev" (original title "Passion for Andrew") - one of the most famous films of Andrei Tarkovsky, which fully entered the treasury of world cinema. The historical philosophical drama, shot by the director in 1966 at the Mosfilm studio, was repeatedly criticized and censored for its gloominess and excessive naturalism. The film was later recognized as one of the director's major works. Since its release and for more than 50 years it has been on the list of the 100 best films in the world, compiled by the world's greatest directors and film critics. Everyone has heard and many have seen "Andrei Rublev", but few people know the history of the film's creation, the difficult and thorny path that fell to the share of its creators. Director of the film Andrei Tarkovsky Jr.: "Andrei Rublev" is not just one of the best films in the history of world cinematography. The modernity of the themes, the surprising, prophetic relevance of the issues raised by the author, the depth of the conflict between the inner spiritual world of the artist and the outer world, full of violence and godlessness, prompted me to create a documentary about "Andrei Rublev". Let art is not able to change the world, but it can soften our souls, open our eyes to the goodness, beauty and harmony of this world, which we seem to have completely forgotten. The movie "Andrei Rublev" reminds and warns us of this even today, more than 50 years after its creation". The picture "Andrei Rublev. Memories of the movie" tells about the creation of the movie, its deep philosophical and artistic meaning, the figure of Andrei Rublev himself and the influence of the great icon painter on the work of Andrei Tarkovsky. The director is the son of the great creator Andrei Tarkovsky Jr. Andrei Konchalovsky, Nikolai Burlyaev, Igor Evlampiev and Yuri Nazarov took part in the movie, Marianna Chugunova, Bozhena Maslennikova. The film was made using newsreel and photos from the archive of the Cinema Museum, materials from Andrei Tarkovsky's personal archive, as well as unique fragments from the director's version of "Andrei Rublev", which the audience will see on the big screen for the first time. Also within the framework of special screenings for the director's 92nd birthday the audience in different cities of Russia will have a unique opportunity to see on the big screen the restored version of Tonino Guerra and Andrei Tarkovsky's film "Voyage in Time" (Italian: Tempo di viaggio, English: Voyage in Time). The documentary is devoted to the search for the "nature" - the location of the future film "Nostalgia".
