One of the most famous historical monasteries in Russia, the Transfiguration Monastery on Valaam Island, has got its own mobile application. It is intended for pilgrims, tourists visiting Valaam, and the widest circle of believers.
The application was developed in collaboration with the creative association 'Parsuna' and is a guide to the island, equipped with maps and easy navigation, which includes more than seven hundred circular panoramas. However, the new mobile app is not just a guide to Valaam. It also contains an Orthodox calendar compiled by the brethren with a soulful word for every day. And also a prayer book, which includes prayers, akathists, canons and liturgical texts - for understanding by novice Christians, they are presented here not only in Church Slavonic, but also in Russian. In addition, the app allows you to submit a health note neighbors, as well as order the commemoration of the dead in one of the monastery churches.
