A little more than half a year ago, the Sevsky Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery was returned to the Church - and today nuns are already settling in and improving it, according to the information portal Bryanskaya Ulitsa. For the first time in the last hundred years, a solemn divine service was held in the church of the holy monastery. It was performed by Metropolitan of Bryansk and Sevsk Alexander, co-served by the clergy.
Until the beginning of the godless era, the Sevsk monastery was for men. It was closed in 1921. The sisters, who have now formed the community of the reviving monastery, have with their own hands built a church in the name of All Saints on the second floor. Hieromonks of the Theotokos Ploshchanskaya male desert perform divine services here. There are also places for pilgrims in the monastery. “I was surprised with what great taste this cozy home church was decorated with an elegant iconostasis, with its beauty reminiscent of brotherly Ukraine, where there are always many flowers, smiles of people, and an abundance of earthly fruits. It is really easy to serve in this church and one can already feel prayer, ”noted the ruling bishop, Vladyka Alexander.
